Inspire Conference is a 48-hour retreat for missional adventurers – all considering, exploring or practicing church planting or church revitalisation. An exciting and valuable time for encouragement, discernment and “iron sharpening iron”. Thanks to very generous sponsorship from Baptist Insurance Services and Crossover, we have inspirational leaders from across Australia gathered together here just for building us up and spurring us on.

Jono Ingram – Legendary on Community Engagement
Place Manager Aintree – Grassroots Placemakers (BUV)

Jono is a urban gardener, localist, neighbourhood enthusiast, and placemaker where he lives in Melbourne’s western growth corridor. As a former Baptist pastor in rural VIC, Jono has led and planted multiple missional communities which sought to be a tangible expression of God’s Kingdom in the neighbourhood. Now with Grassroots Placemakers — a new faith-based, not-for-profit — Jono works alongside local council and housing developers to cultivate neighbourliness and community in new housing estates. Jono will be speaking about the art of placemaking, and the importance of taking Jesus’ command to love our neighbour seriously.

Belinda Lakelin – Inspirational on Evangelism
Evangelism Consultant – NSW Baptists

Belinda Lakelin has been in the role of Evangelism Consultant since 2016. Her role involves inspiring, equipping and training churches in the area of evangelism.
For many years Belinda has been involved in sharing the gospel through a variety of evangelistic activities, but her passion is for grass-roots evangelism: the privilege each Christian has to speak about Jesus.

Mike Bullard – Brilliant on Missional Leadership
Church and Leaders Support Pastor – Baptist Churches of WA

Mike Bullard has been pastoring / training / church developing / and quite a few other things for the last 30 or so years. He’s currently in the role of Pastor for Church and Leader support in the WA Baptist Churches. Mike is completing a DMin in Christian leadership focused on training oral learners. He is married to Rhonda, has 3 kids ages 15,13 and 10, rides his bike when he can, and used to be ok at golf.

Mike will be speaking on Christian leadership: we have a model. His name is Jesus.

How did he do it? What personal and group dynamics did he put in place as he sought to gather, train, and mobilise people for joining God’s mission? Why were people so responsive to him and his methods? Can we realistically utilise similar models for ministry today?
