Ian and Wendy Dicks, Simeon and Benjamin live in Namwera, Malawi.
Ian researches the Yawo language and culture and facilitates others in their growth and understanding of them. He has recently co-written a Yawo grammar book, a book on Yawo worldview and culture, and is currently editing a Ciyawo/English bilingual dictionary. He also mentors and disciples Yawo leaders in the emerging community of faith.
Wendy has primary responsibility for the care and education of the boys, helped by a Malawian teacher. She visits in the community, helps at a nearby orphanage and nutrition clinic and assists with other aspects of the ministry.
Ian and Wendy have much to contribute, especially with Ian being a cultural and linguistics consultant to the teams in Malawi and Mozambique. This is an essential role as these teams seek to share the gospel in ways that resonate with the culture.
