Australia’s young people are leaving the church… and not returning.
Why are young people leaving? What can we do about it?
Join us for this informative training event with Dr Dave Overholt and his daughter Karra to explore and unpack these two vital questions.
This event has been specially designed for parents, pastors, key leaders & volunteers.

Dr Dave Overholt
Dr Dave Overholt is Senior Pastor and founder of Church on the Rock, one of the largest and longest running youth-targeted churches in North America. With 27 years of youth ministry experience, a doctorate in philosophy of education and thesis in “Adults mentoring Adolescents” Dave has much wisdom, knowledge and experience to share with us.
Dave is also part of a group called the EFC (Evangelical Fellowship of Canada), a round table for Youth and Young Adults. The EFC as an organisation has taken up several research projects. The most recent one, called Haemorrhaging Faith (http://www.hemorrhagingfaith.com/), has rocked the Canadian church and has essential lessons for our Australian pastors, children, youth and young adult leaders and churches as a whole. Dave has written a follow up booklet for the Round Table, called Transfusing Life, which interprets the findings of the report and gives feedback from veteran youth workers on how to address the significant issues found in the report. Dave will be sharing findings and solutions from the Haemorrhaging Faith research with us.
Karra is the Youth Director at Church on the Rock and is passionate about seeing young people have a personal relationship with Jesus. An accomplished communicator, often speaking at youth retreats, camps and seminars, Karra brings loads of enthusiasm, inspiration and a practical punch from the Word of God.
