Bill has been on staff of Syndal Baptist Church for almost 39 years, initially as Youth Pastor and, for the past 29 years, as the Church’s Senior Pastor. Bill was married to Jenny for almost 34 years until she died in August 2009. He has four adult children and 5 grandchildren. He loves time with family and friends and enjoys sport-especially cricket and football, gardening, music and reading.

Elective – Parenting (0-Teens)
Parenting can be a tough journey. This elective aims to explore strategies to help you thrive in your parenting from birth to the beginning of the teenage years.

Wendy (writer & editor) and Jeff Noble (pastor) are parents/parents-in-law of four adult children and have two grandchildren.  They have vast experience in making mistakes as their children moved into adulthood, and have occasionally felt as though they got things right.

Elective – Parenting (Teens – Adult)
The elective will cover both those aspects in a down to earth manner.

Jjooanna Hubbard
Joanna is a practiced and Ordained Minister of Religion who also has experience and training in Community Development and Not-For-Profit Management. Joanna has a high value for innovation and together with her husband, was a part of establishing the world’s first charity app on iOS.

Elective – In your street/neighborhood
This elective will offer a fresh, exciting perspective on the way your Church engages its local community.

McDonald, DarrenDarren McDonald
Darren is currently the Business Manager at King’s Baptist Grammar School, Chair of the Board and Treasurer at Golden Grove Baptist and on the board of Baptist Financial Services. He is passionate about seeing people reach their potential.

Elective – At Work
We spend 2/3rds of our life at work and we should be doing more than going through the motions.  This session will be exploring how we don’t just survive our working life but finding ways to actually thrive.

kimKimberly Smith
Kimberly is a teacher, pastor, speaker, leader, traveler, and café-hopper. Her passion to see faith communities functioning as a healthy expression of God’s family.

Elective – Singleness
 Leading WHILE Single, leading WITH Singles and leading those who ARE Single will be made more fruitful by a greater understanding of the nuance of this season. Kim has 12 years of experience as a Single person in pastoral ministry – come and join the conversation.

PaulPaul Whetham
Dr Paul Whetham is a clinical psychologist and co-author of Hard to be Holy. He specializes in stress management and runs a private practice in Adelaide called Lifeboat Stories.

Elective – Thriving while struggling with mental health issues
This workshop will be facilitated by a pastor and clinical psychologist exploring spiritual health as a pathway to mental health.


tonyTony Ling
Tony has been in pastoral ministry for nearly 30 years and is currently the Senior Pastor of Victor Harbor Baptist Church. He is married to Robyn and their three children range from finishing year 12 to studying at Flinders to teaching.

Elective – Thriving while leading in ministry
This elective emanates from his passion for assisting pastors and congregations thrive in the context of the pressures of ministry, family, and life.

Russell Bartlett
Russell is the Accreditation and Formation Facilitator for Baptist Churches SA. He loves to be involved with people, encouraging them to connect with God in life-giving ways.’

Elliot is married to Sarah and has three children, aged 5, 3, & 1. He has recently taken on the role of Evangelism Equipper for our network. The past 5 years Elliot and the Richmond church family have been learning how to become a community of Jesus followers thriving in all aspects of life.

Explore how we can create a thriving church culture where we grow up in Jesus, lean in towards one another and go out into our world.

robinRobin Carter
Robin has pastored a church for 20 years and has worked for BWAA for last 8 years. Robin has 3 married daughters. After the death of Robin’s first wife Lyn, he married to Rebecca who has 2 married daughters and a son.

Elective – Thriving in Mission to the Poor
Know what is sustainable and high impact in empowering people out of poverty both locally and overseas. Understand the right questions to ask about projects and mission trips, learn about non-financial ways to help the poor and Develop a sustainable mission.
