National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is an invitation for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, and to take action towards reconciliation.

How might you and your church consider being involved this year? Linked below are some resources specifically for churches that you might find helpful.

GODx Talk on Reconciliation and Love

You could re-watch or show our brother Pastor Don Hayward’s GodX Talk on Reconciliation and Love from last year’s 4D Conference. There are also two episodes of our podcast Movement available where Pastor Don shares more of his story, and talks more about what he shared at 4D.

The Justice Report

Australian Baptist Ministries produced the Justice Report last year, which looks at nine areas of advocacy our movement is involved in. The first of these is Justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and the report outlines three key calls to action our Baptist leaders have asked from our government.

Church Resources Toolkit

Common Grace are exploring this year’s theme under the heading “Reconciliation as Love in Action”, with a Church Resources Toolkit you can sign up to receive. They also have a range of suggested prayers you can use.

Reconciliation Action Kit

Tearfund have a downloadable Reconciliation Action Kit as well as some short videos featuring Aboriginal Christian leaders talking about topics including Celebrating Faith and Hope for Tomorrow.
